Scholarships

The Children’s Winter Garden with White Wing School is proud to have two scholarship programs. Please let the office know if you are interested in applying for a scholarship.

Donna Purkhiser Memorial Scholarship
Donna-Purkhiser-webThe Donna Purkhiser Memorial Scholarship was created in 2004 in memory of Donna Purkhiser. Donna, a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua and long time supporter of the White Wing School, believed in the importance of early education. Donna felt strongly that early education should be available to everyone, not just those that could afford it. She was both quietly spiritual and pragmatic in the best sense of the word. Creating the Donna Purkhiser Memorial Scholarship honors her memory as it ties together her love of her church, her dedication to White Wing and it addresses a need.
Gregory McDevitt Scholarship
The Gregory McDevitt Scholarship was established in Greg’s memory in 2008. Greg McDevitt was a caring and unassuming man. He was extremely involved in his children’s preschool education. His smile lit up the school when he would bring his child in. Greg was a dedicated family man who was so interested in his children receiving a ggregood solid, nurturing preschool experience. He was an active member of the CWG Board of Directors and in 2007 he became the Chair. He not only helped out with Board matters, but was there to support the staff by installing basketball hoops, collecting nature based items for projects that were planned in the classroom & going on every field trip we offered. This scholarship allows us to keep Greg in our memory as such a caring person and he would be so happy that children could benefit from something in his honor.
