Autumn at CWG-WWS

Hello all,fallletters

We have all settled into our school routine and the children are having so much fun. Many activities are planned for the month of October. Our 4 year olds will venture out on a field trip to Brookdale Fruit Farm in Hollis. They will go on a hayride, find their way through the corn maze and pick some tasty apples to bring back to school. Sounds like a busy morning.

School pictures were taken this week, so the school was filled with lots of smiles. Can’t wait to see how they turn out.

Parents, get ready for a showcase of art on Thursday Oct. 18 for Open House. The children have been working so hard on projects. These will all be on display along with lots of pictures of the children engaging in their daily activities. One of those activities was today. The children were talking about cows and they taste tested three different kinds of milk. After surveying the children, I think the favorite was the chocolate milk. That’s no surprise!!

Later in the month, we will have a visit from the Firefighters, to talk to the children about fire safety. The children love to sit in the firetruck and watch the firefighters climb the very tall ladder on the truck.

We have an author of the month, Ed Emberlee, who writes great books about emotions. Some of them are Go Away Big Green Monster, Glad Monster, Sad Monster and Nighty Night Little Green Monster. The children love these wonderfully illustrated books

We round out our month with a costume parade and Halloween celebrations, complete with games and face painting.

So all in all the children will be engaging in all kinds of great activities during the month of October.

We all wish you a very happy Autumn season.

Warm regards,

Chris
